Boucher Energy Systems and Unico

The Unico System: The Perfect Fit:

Boucher Energy Systems has been installing Unico in homes for over 10 years. No matter when your home or building was built, or what its physical configuration, installing the Unico System is always a possibility - without compromising design or architectural integrity.

Brownstone or ranch, one story or multi-level, office or other commercial - regardless of your building's age, design or construction, the Unico System is designed to fit.

Flexible Ducts - Little Or No Remodeling Needed:

Examples of Unico ducts installed by Boucher Energy

Here are just three examples of how Boucher Energy Systems has installed Unico's flexible ducts. The flexible mini-ducts weave easily through existing construction. The Unico System fits where other conventional cooling and heating systems can't - with little or no remodeling required! The modular air handlers and coils can be installed easily into attics, ceilings, crawlspaces and closets. The flexible mini-ducts can be routed through existing ceiling, floor and wall cavities, eliminating the need for unsightly and noisy metal ductwork.

Small And Subtle Outlets:

These are two examples of oak outlets installed in a hardwood floor. Second example of an oak outlet installed to blend into a hardwood floor. In this example we have cut tile with specialized drill bits to install a Unico outlet.
In this example we have an outlet installed below the stone surface so that no plastic ring is visible; hidden in the corner of a room.Standard white outlet installed in a wine cellar; about the size of a recessed light shown at the right.

Above are five examples of how the small and subtle Unico outlets blend into any décor. To allow you to choose a look that best suits your decorating tastes, Boucher Energy Systems offers different outlet styles. You can choose a wooden, brass or aluminum finish. Or, use the original, standard plastic finish - and choose to paint or stain the outlet to match the coloring of your room.

Less Humidity:

The Unico System provides an excellent degree of comfort. Air in the Unico System is passed directly over the evaporator coils at a colder temperature - 28° to 30°f colder for the Unico System compared to 15° to 17°f for conventional systems. With this unique difference, the Unico System removes 30% more moisture in the cooling mode than conventional systems. You'll enjoy fresh, pure air and feel more comfortable, even in areas of the country with high humidity.

Quiet Performance:

The Unico System outperforms conventional heating and cooling systems by utilizing a patented high velocity system of air. Instead of typical units, which operate at 500-600 feet per minute at the outlet, the Unico System operates at 2,000 feet per minute. However, while you'll feel the comfort in our system, you won't hear it. The air handler is designed to isolate noise and vibration. In addition, our uniquely designed supply tubes are lined with sound-dampening, spun-bond nylon, providing you with quiet comfort.

To Boucher Energy,

"Thank you for another excellent project! Now our home is controlled by systems from Boucher Energy during all seasons of the year- York\Unico air conditioning during the hot muggy days of summer and Viessmann hydronic heating for the frigid New England winters. Your recommendation to install the Unico high-velocity A\C system was definitely the right choice- it is exceptionally quiet and unobtrusive, while maintaining an even temperature throughout the house.

Your team installed the air conditioning system with the same care and attention to detail that we experienced with the hydronic installation you did previously. Despite cutting holes in ceilings and walls, the house was left as clean as before the job started. Truly a professional organization."

Hydro Air: Heating & Cooling With Unico:

Boucher Energy Systems has been designing hydro air systems for over 15 years. A hydro air system is a combination of a hot water and a hot air system. A hot water boiler, either oil or gas fired, generates heat. The water is then pumped through small diameter tubing to an air handler unit. This unit contains a hot water coil, an air conditioning coil, and a fan (blower) unit. This unit resembles an air conditioning air handler. As hot water heats up the coils, the blower than turns on and passes air over the coils. This air is then distributed throughout the home via a duct system. The same ductwork is also used to distribute cool air if an air conditioning unit is also attached.

Corporate Partner With National Trust For Historic Preservation

What is the National Trust for Historic Preservation? For more than 50 years, the National Trust has been helping people protect the irreplaceable. A private nonprofit organization with more than a quarter million members, the National Trust is the leader of the vigorous preservation movement that is saving the best of our past for the future.

The need for the National Trust has increased since its founding in 1949. When historic buildings and neighborhoods are torn down or allowed to deteriorate, a part of our past disappears forever. When that happens, we lose history that helps us know who we are, and we lose opportunities to live and work in the kinds of interesting and attractive surroundings that older buildings can provide.

These conditions are reflected in the Trust's mission statement: The National Trust for Historic Preservation provides leadership, education and advocacy to save America's diverse historic places and revitalize our communities.
